This course introduces participants to the principles of global citizenship, sustainable development, and the concept of local and global contexts being interconnected.
The BeGlobal project, co-financed by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, continues to promote the development of global competencies in Chile and Colombia. As part of this effort, faculty members from participating universities are testing the Global Citizenship Training Course, designed by Université Côte d’Azur, an initiative aimed at transforming education through innovative methodologies.
This course introduces participants to the principles of global citizenship, sustainable development, and the concept of local and global contexts being interconnected. Through reflective exercises, community exploration, and applying advanced strategies, educators deepen their understanding of how important it is to encourage citizens who engage with their surroundings and who are prepared for the challenges internationalization brings.
Participants are also encouraged to imagine sustainable futures, promoting hope and creativity as driving forces for change. Furthermore, they gain access to specialized pedagogical tools, such as the BeGlobal training manual, which provides assessment and teaching strategies focused on global learning. Through this training, BeGlobal not only strengthens the internationalization process within education, but also advances the development of key skills for active citizenship in an interconnected world.
This course will soon be available in Spanish for teachers, students, and all those interested in learning about global citizenship. This initiative will ensure that more people can access the knowledge and tools necessary to foster inclusive education linking to current global challenges, which reinforces BeGlobal’s commitment to educational transformation.
With initiatives such as this, education continues to evolve toward models that integrate knowledge, sustainability and international cooperation, broadening new horizons for global learning.
