Internationalization is not solely dependent on physical mobility but rather on the ability to integrate global perspectives into local educational processes.
The BeGlobal HELWEEK in November 2024 became a milestone in teacher training, leaving a profound impact on participants. This event, designed to strengthen internationalization in higher education, allowed educators to explore innovative methodologies and transform their teaching practices with a global approach.
The impact was so significant that on December 11, professors from the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios and the Fundación Universitaria Juan N. Corpas gathered to continue this legacy, reaffirming their institutions’ commitment to inclusive and globally connected education. In this session, teachers replicated the training received at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, applying advanced learning designs and teaching strategies aligned with internationalization.
Within the framework of the BeGlobal project, HELWEEK was not just a training space—it was an opportunity to strengthen the educational community through knowledge exchange. Participants worked on the development of global citizenship competencies, promoting gamification and serious games as key tools for active learning. Additionally, they addressed local challenges with an international perspective, ensuring that education not only adapts to global changes but also responds to the specific needs of each context.
The goal of BeGlobal is clear: to promote the internationalization of higher education in Chile and Colombia, contributing to the development of a more connected and collaborative society. Thanks to initiatives like the events replicating HELWEEK’s lessons, educators can access tools that allow them to innovate in their classrooms, preparing students to become active global citizens.
These types of gatherings reinforce the idea that internationalization is not solely dependent on physical mobility but rather on the ability to integrate global perspectives into local educational processes. In this way, BeGlobal continues to make a difference, strengthening academic cooperation networks and fostering the exchange of ideas for a transformative and borderless education.
