In an exciting milestone towards internationalization, UNIMINUTO officially launched the Erasmus+ Be Global project during a day of excitement and collaboration.
The Kick-off meeting, held at the Universidad Católica de Maule in Talca, Chile, marked the formal start of this ambitious project funded by the European Commission.
The Erasmus+ Be Global project unites prestigious international universities, including Universidad Católica del Maule (Chile), Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (Chile), Université Côte d’Azur (France), Haaga-Helia University (Finland) and Fundación Universitaria Juan N Corpas (Colombia). The objective is to promote internationalization at home and strengthen global competencies through innovative initiatives, collaborative projects and serious games that will involve students, teachers and social organizations.
The Haaga-Helia Vocational Teachers’ School in Finland is leading a work package focused on developing a training program to foster Global Citizenship. This program includes the creation of a Pedagogical Framework on Global Competence using co-creation methods and innovative pedagogical pathways. The training content will cover topics such as social responsibility, global competence and civic engagement, with workshops aimed at the staff of educational institutions, trainers, students and members of external organizations.
Haaga-Helia and the Université Côte d’Azur, are focusing on creating and facilitating “internationalization experiences at home for the global citizen” by developing a series of serious games to address local challenges. Meanwhile, UNIMINUTO, Fundación Universitaria Juan N. Corpas and the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, create local partnerships, communications and dissemination of the project, coordinate and ensure quality assurance. Their objective is to equip educational staff, students, and NGOs from the most vulnerable sectors with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote active global citizenship and enhance social cohesion in the region.
