Université Côte d’Azur in France (UniCA) is one partner institution of the ambitious BeGlobal project, leading the WP4 «Global Citizen serious games for reflecting on a local challenge».
The development of this WP4 is central and substantial for BeGlobal project: after the creation of the BeGlobal Alliance with plenty of local actors in Latin America (WP2), and after their training on social responsibility, global engagement and sustainable development (WP3), the WP4 will enable the delivery of Serious Games expected to educate, raise awareness and inform people of all ages and backgrounds about the importance of global skills, global citizenship and their impacts for the people and local development in South America.
To this end, UniCA will coordinate the work efforts of a multitude of actors who will be involved in the serious games’ development:
- Colombian and Chilean students, HEI and NGO will first play a pivotal role by identifying and proposing game topics related to global engagement and citizenship, and linked with the local challenges faced within the region;
- Colombian, Chilean, French and Finnish students, drive by trainers, will then work in international groups to define the serious games scenarios on local challenges;
- Finally, UniCA will develop the technological part of the serious games.
This combination of efforts from all backgrounds and countries will enable an area of open discussion and reflection for Latin-American, and an opportunity for UniCA experts to share their good practices and deploy their skills in the context of a global citizenship serious games. These will be developed in both English and Spanish, and will be made available for public access in Latin America.
So far, the institution has contributed to the efforts led by Haaga-Helia Univeristy into the development of a pedagogical framework of common understanding for global citizenship trainings (WP3).
